hard water tip

(this is not my shower)

In the shower yesterday, I noticed my clear plastic shower curtain was looking a little foggy. We have hard water and it makes it so that the shower curtain looks dirty and yucky. I can't stand it! So, not wanting to scrub it down, I just threw it (rings and all) in the washer hoping for a good result. Well, it came out crystal clear and beautiful again. I was so excited knowing that I don't have to spray and scrub that curtain anymore. Yeah!

Happy Birthday Jason!

I just wanted to tell my sweetheart, Happy Birthday! We love you and hope that your day was great. 27 on the 27th.

The petting zoo

Yesterday, Noah and I got to go to the petting zoo at Thanksgiving Point with some friends from the neighborhood. We had such a good time seeing the animals and being able to touch them. We even got to feed some of them. Noah really liked that part. Here are some pictures, and if anyone wants to go again, we are definitely up for another trip!

Easter Festivities

Our Easter festivities started on Saturday with our annual Easter egg hunt at my Aunt Marnie's house. We got to visit with family, enjoy lunch together, and have a fun Easter egg hunt for the kids.

That night we colored Easter eggs and Noah had fun getting involved.
In the morning, we searched for our eggs and Easter baskets. We put some fun things in Noah's basket but all he wanted was the candy.

Congratulations Jason!

Just a quick post to tell Jason congratulations. He just got a great new job as an intern for an engineering company here in Lehi. They pay almost as much as he is making at the mill but it is much closer and we still get to have benefits. What a huge blessing to him and us because he will be able to be home during the evenings and won't have to drive all the way to Payson for work anymore. Yeah, we are so excited!
Now as far as where we will live... we are still not sure where or when we will be moving but at least we know that we get to stay in the area. We will keep you posted.

Mini Golf

On Saturday night we got to go play indoor miniature golf at Trafalga in Provo. It was Noah's first time getting to play. We got him his own club and ball, and he felt like a big boy I think. He had a good time. We went with Jason's 2 good buddies from high school, Rod and Heath. There's "Uncle" Heath in the background! Daddy is giving Noah a few pointers. He really enjoyed the independence of getting to play his own game instead of just watching us. It was a fun night for all of us.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Noah and I made green waffles this morning for breakfast. Jason thinks I am weird to do this but I do it every year and it never gets old. They were delicious! Enjoy the first song on my play list below. I dedicate it to all of you St. Patrick's Day fans.

The other Noah

In the mornings we I get ready for the day, I put Noah up on the counter in the bathroom to entertain himself. He loves this because there is another Noah in the mirror. He will point to himself and smile and laugh. When I look over to check on him, he is always making the funniest faces that make me laugh so much. I tried to get one on camera but he was camera shy.

This next picture is funny because Noah has a lot of hair now and it is curly like his Dad's. I just can't bring my self to get it cut yet but I don't really know what to do with it. Here is what I did today. He was a good sport and let me play with his hair, I tried to do a mohawk but it ended up looking like an ocean wave with curls on the side. He will probably kill me for posting this when he gets a little older! I think I need a girl next.

Indecisive

Indecision, inconclusive, indefinite. I think all of these words would accurately describe us right now. As a lot of you may have noticed, there is a "For Sale" sign out in our front yard.
It is true, we are moving (again). Jason and I have been renting our cute townhome until we closed with the mortgage company. Well, they just kept coming up with all of these tiny excuses and stipulations, so not to give us the loan, and after 3 months of this, we told them we were done. We re-evaluated our situation and with Jason still in school with 1 1/2 years left, we have decided that we need to rent a place so that Jason doesn't have to work so many hours, and can focus more on school work. Some of you may not know this, but Jason goes to school in the day and at night, he works. The only time he is home are between the hours of 2:45 am- and 8:00 am when he is asleep. Saturday and Sunday are his only days to spend with Noah and I. We thought it was time to make a change. Have you ever heard of anyone buying a house while still in school and working 40 hours a week? It just doesn't make sense. It will be sad to leave our beautiful home after living here for such a short time, I love this place and have made some great friends here, but we have to do what is best for our family. I am not really sure why we felt we needed to be here, we knew that we were making the right decision by moving in; maybe it is because we could help out Paul, the owner by renting. Well, whatever the reason, I am very glad we have been able to live here at Summer Village and meet all of you wonderful people who have welcomed us so quickly.

Rough Day

So yesterday, my poor Noah had a really rough day. It started out when we went to lunch with some friends from the ward. For some reason, Noah was extremely difficult for me. I could not console him at all, he cried the whole time that we were in that restaurant. Then last night, we were just watching his baby Einstein video and he was whiny and whimpering, and was not his self at all. So, I just held him and scratched his back, (he really likes that) and gave him some baby Tylenol because I didn't know what was wrong. He just kept crying. Finally, I didn't know what else to do but ask for a blessing. He didn't have a fever but I could tell he was just achy. Poor Jason works at night so he couldn't be here for the blessing and felt really sad about that. I called Uncle Eric and he called Jeff Pendleton to help give my little guy a blessing. Noah was back to his happy and sweet self immediately following the blessing. Thank you to Uncle Eric and Jeff for your help last night. I still don't really know what was bugging Noah so badly last night but it may be some sort of flu or something; today he has a stuffy nose. It is just great to know that if there is a need, I have great neighbors who are willing to help. And if any of your little ones are sick because of my little boy, I sincerely apologize.

1. Most people don't know this about me and you may think it is just a bad habit but since I was in 9th grade, I have collected PEZ dispensers. I have over 300, some of them are rare but most are just ones that I buy at the grocery store.

2. I grew up in California, in the city going to the beach on the weekends with my friends.

Jason grew up in a very small farm town called Benjamin, helping his Dad on the land. We have very different backgrounds but couldn't be more similar when it comes to likes, dislikes and our personalities.

3. I love to cook anything and everything. My inspirations are Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa), she makes the most delicious and practical things, and Curtis Stone (Take-Home-Chef), other than being very good looking, he also makes the coolest meals that are not so practical but look so delicious.
4. A lot of people don't know that I am half Cuban. My mother was born in Cuba and so were her parents and when she was 10, they moved to the US. It is such a beautiful place, hopefully Raul Castro will change some things and make it possible for people to easily go there to visit .
5. I served a mission in Neuquen, Argentina and got to learn how to speak Spanish (or Castellano) fluently, and will forever be grateful. It was the hardest, yet most rewarding 18 months of my life.
6. While on my mission I gained a lot of weight and since then, I have lost 40 pounds. They make good food in Argentina. A lot of beef and fried food! This is embarrassing to post but here you go. This is a photo of a photo because we don't have a scanner. Here I am in my first area, called Sarmiento, about ready to be transferred. This was a lady we were teaching, in her very humble home. I wish I were still that tan and had the sun bleached hair again.

7. I have very eclectic taste in music. I love anything from Mozart to Sean Kingston, to John Denver and Shakira. It just depends on the mood I am in but you can be sure, that dancing is involved... only behind closed doors :o)
8. One of my favorite things to do is to go shopping at Tai Pan or in down town LA with my Mom and my sisters. We all have very similar taste and end up having the best time being out together. I just wish that my Mom lived closer so that we could go more often.

9. For my whole life, up until about 5 months ago, I have had really long hair. My friend Heather told me that she cut her hair and donated it to a little girl she knows who cant grow her own. I was getting pretty sick of my hair and was very ready for a drastic change, so I too cut 10 & 1/2 inches off and was able to donate it to this little girl. I knew that the only way I could feel good about cutting my hair was if it were going to be used for some good. It is something that I would like to do again once my hair grows back out.(Sorry, the bottom one is a picture of a picture)

10. I love sports. In high school I played softball and volleyball, I was never really good at either but, because my Dad and I would play catch so often, I had a really good arm and could throw really far. I don't think I could do that now. These days, I enjoy running (when the weather is good) and I love to go bike riding.

Kangaroo Zoo

Noah is finally at an age that he can really enjoy different places and have fun there. I am certainly not in a hurry for my baby to grow up but, the older he gets, the more fun he is to play with. So, on Friday I took Noah to this place called Kangaroo Zoo in Pleasant Grove. My friend Becky and her daughter Brylee went with us and the kids had a blast! It is this cool place that has these huge inflatable trampoline like things. It was really great for Noah because he had total freedom to run around in this huge warehouse filled with fun toys and slides for him. He has been stuck inside virtually this whole winter, so it was a much needed excursion. I highly recommend going on a cold or rainy day because it was only $5 dollars to get in.
