Easter Fun

We had a great Easter this year! We were able to spend time with both sides of the family. Saturday night, we went to Jason's parents house and the kids got to find lots of Easter eggs and we had a nice dinner. The kids were very spoiled and got lots of candy and treats from Grandparents. Even Allie got an Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa!Cute little Lydia did awesome at finding eggs too!Jason's Grandma Denene holding Allie.The Grandkids with their loot. Leave it to Uncle Nic to do bunny ears!Even Grandpa Dean had his turn holding Allie.
On Sunday morning, the kids woke up and found their Easter baskets. Logan's favorite thing from his basket were his new Elmo socks.
Noah's favorite item in his basket was definitely his little ninjago lego set. The boy LOVES legos!Allie got an Easter basket as well but won't get to enjoy any of it for a while! The Easter Bunny got her, her first doll.The boys got to color eggs and find them throughout the house. It was a great Easter, and the kids had lots of fun!In our Easter outfits. 2 weeks old

Allie is 2 weeks old today. She had her well child check up and is doing really well. Here are her stats,
height: 21.25" 84%
weight: 7.07 lbs. 14%
head circum: 16.25" 100%

so, her stats are a bit off! She has been falling asleep during feedings so she doesn't get full. Hopefully that will get better and she can gain a little more weight. Right now, she weighs less than she weighed at birth!

Allie is such a sweet baby and only cries when she is hungry. She loves to be held and is sleeping really well at night. Last night, she slept the whole night. I had to wake her up to feed her and then she was out for the rest of the night. Her big brothers are absolutely in love with her. Noah asks me several times a day if he can hold Allie. They smother her with kisses and make sure she is ok if she cries. Life is definitely harder with 3 kids but I wouldn't have it any other way. I just love my little family!

Allie's story

{Labor}

I guess it started on Thursday morning after my doctors appointment. I had my doctor strip my membranes and throughout the day, I had several small contractions which I thought were just normal. That evening, I was at my sisters house watching a movie with all of my family when I began to have a lot of painful contractions. That whole night, I had painful back contractions but they were not coming in even intervals so I tried to sleep through as much as I could. I woke up at 6am on Friday morning to some very painful back contractions that started coming 5 minutes apart so, I got my bag and everything ready. We took the boys to my sisters house where my Mom was alone with my 2 nephews because my Dad and sisters had gone skiing for the day. My poor mom had to watch the 4 little boys while Jason and I headed to the hospital. I got there around 9am, still having strong contractions but as we were headed up to labor and delivery, my contractions seemed to die down a little. I was so worried that I would not be admitted and I would have to some back later. Well, the nurse checked me and I was at 4.5 centimeters, but you can't be admitted until you are 5 centimeters. So, we waited in the triage room for an hour hoping that more strong contractions would come and labor would progress. Well, it did. I had some incredibly strong contractions and was admitted. I had the most wonderful labor and delivery nurse. She got me warm blankets and socks and made sure I was super comfortable. (My room was the same room that the "sister wives" show was filmed when Christine had her baby there.)

{Delivery}

I got my IV, after the nurses tried 3 times. I have very small veins and it always takes 3 tries to get an IV line in. I got my epidural and waited until my body was ready to deliver. My doctor was not on-call that day so Doctor Jones was our Doctor. He was so nice and reassuring. At about 2:40pm, I was ready to push. The doctor came in and Allie was out in 2 pushes and the doctor was in my room for maybe 10 minutes. It happened so quickly! Allie was here, weighing 7 pounds 10 ounces and 19 inches long. By that time, my family was back from skiing and Jason's family was here so everyone got to meet Allie right away! It was such a positive experience, and definitely my best delivery.
This is my awesome labor and delivery nurse, Jenny.

My parents finally get a granddaughter! Jason and I still can't believe that we have a daughter. It has been so fun dressing her up and making sure she has a matching headband!
The Grandmas introducing Logan to Allie. He loves to kiss and hug Allie but he has definitely been acting out since the baby arrived. It must be tough being the middle child.The boys had fun trying to stay entertained in a hospital room.
All buckled up and ready to go home!

A peek at the nursery...

Though the nursery has a few things left to do, I had to show off one photo. I am loving how the room is turning out, it has been so much fun making it girly! She will very likely be here before her room is done but baby will be spending the first 2 months or so in Mommy and Daddy's room so, I still have time.The picture doesn't do justice at all to the room but you get the idea!

9 days until my due date but I am being induced on the 12th. I figured that would give her some time to come on her own but then I won't go over my due date. My family comes into town this weekend, so it would be really nice if she could come before or while they are here. I have tried all the tricks to try and induce labor except for the castor oil. Today I have been fasting for almost 24 hours, which has been very difficult to do but some people swear it will make you go into labor, so it was worth a try! I have had a lot of painful contractions today so maybe it's working. I have had a great pregnancy so far without any complications, so I can't really complain, but I am so done being pregnant and very ready to start getting my old body back. Hopefully my next post will be of our little girl!
