Logan's birth story (finally)

I am so behind on my blogging! I have been wanting to post about Logan's delivery, mainly so I don't forget the details.
It started very early in the morning on May 7th. I woke up at about 2:30 in the morning with very sharp contractions. I wasn't sure if they were real or not so I started timing them. At that time they were coming at random times so I tried to sleep some more. Well, that didn't last long because they became more painful and were now at 5 minutes apart. I woke Jason up and we decided that this was the real thing. So, we got the bags ready and got Noah in the car. I was in so much pain and now the contractions were coming every 2 minutes. We live about 4 blocks away from the hospital and in the time it took to get there, I had 3 contractions! Anyway, we got there at 4:00am and I was at 3 centimeters. When we walked in, Dr. Watabe was there on call so that was nice to know he was ready for the baby to come. They made me labor in that room for about another hour and a half. I guess they determined that I was in fact in labor, so I got to go to a delivery room.
(This is the last picture of my big belly and Noah as an only child.)
Progress was moving pretty quickly so I got an epidural about an hour later. That was heaven sent! The nurses checked me and I was at a 7, so Jason decided to go to the cafeteria and get some breakfast. Shortly after he left the nurse checked me again because the contractions were really strong and about a minute apart. I was now at a 9-9.5 so she said I could start pushing in about 10 minutes. Well, Jason was still at breakfast and happened to be in the elevator when I called him so he didn't get the call. Meanwhile, the nurses and Doctor are waiting so that Jason can be there for the big moment. Finally one of the nurses gets on the loud speaker and pages Jason to my room. He got there shortly after (I thought it was pretty funny!). After about 3 contractions and 6 pushes later...baby Logan was here! Born at 8:55 am on May 7th. He came so quickly and everything went very smoothly. I couldn't have asked for a better delivery. Logan was named for the city that Jason and I got married in, we were married in the Logan temple. His middle name is Dean after Jason's dad. We love our little Logan and have had fun watching his personality come out. Noah adores his little brother, most of the time. He always says, "Awww, baby Logan, my little brother". It is so cute!
