Noah's traumatic day

Today was an eventful day for us. Noah decided to shove an air soft gun BB in his ear! I tried to get it out but I was too scared I would push it further in so I called Jason. He came home from work to help get the BB out. We tried a bulb syringe, long needle nose tweezers, and rigged up the vacuum to a small hose to suck it out. None of them worked so we called the pediatrician. They referred us to an ear, nose and throat doctor and we went in right away. She said that at least once a week they have little boys coming in for the xact same thing! (At least my child isn't the only one!) Anyway, she tried to get it out with this sucky wand thingy but it didn't work. She then stuck this paper strip to the little BB with superglue and she was able to pull it out a little. She tried the sucky wand thingy again and.... it came out!

This is the strip of paper stuck to the ball with superglue.
It was so hard for Noah not to touch it!
Here is the little ball that made Noah's ear it's home for 3 hours. Of course it is orange...Noah's favorite color! He was such a good boy during the whole traumatic ordeal. He actually fell asleep while the doctor was suctioning the ball out of his ear. As a reward for being so good, we got some gummy worms and went swimming in his little kiddie pool in the backyard. We have since thrown all of the BB's away and i'm pretty sure Noah has learned his lesson about sticking things in his ear!
This was actually not our first ordeal with air soft pellets. Do you remember this?... "BB's"

Oh, what a crazy day. I'm so glad everything turned out okay. Adventurous little boy, young Noah is!

I'm sorry. Brayden never stuck anything in his ears, but he did swallow earrings, break a leg ... I can't recall the other's I know there were because he went to the ER 8 times before he was 8. Anyway, maybe it's because, like Noah, his favorite color at that time of his life was ORANGE. I'm glad you got the BB out.

How scary! I dread the day that Suzie puts something in her nose or ear or chokes on something and I have to giver her the Hiemlich. Kids. They'll keeep you on your toes, but life would be boring without them.
